The Kindle & Crayon Story
Hi, I’m Alex, the heart and hands behind Kindle & Crayon. After years working in HR, I experienced the all-too-familiar burnout that so many of us face. In stepping back to heal, I discovered a love for creating thoughtful, beautiful, and meaningful designs that could bring moments of calm, joy, and encouragement into everyday life. That’s how Kindle & Crayon was born – from a desire to blend creativity with compassion, and to make art that truly speaks to the heart.
Two of my biggest inspirations are my cocker spaniels, Alfie and Lucy. They’ve been my loyal companions through some of life’s most challenging seasons, helping me navigate my own mental health journey with their unconditional love and goofy, grounding presence. Our daily walks, quiet cuddles, and the joy they bring into my life have shaped the way I design – always seeking to create things that comfort, encourage, and brighten someone’s day, just like they do for me.
At Kindle & Crayon, I create affirmation colouring pages, printable wall art, and uplifting apparel like tees and totes. Every piece is made with care, often inspired by my own journey as a parent, my love of dogs, my experiences with mental health, and the quiet magic in life’s smallest details. Whether it’s a calming colouring page, a bold affirmation tee, or a print that makes you smile every time you see it, I want my work to remind you that you matter.
I care about where and how my products are made. That’s why every order is printed on demand through Printify or trusted local printers – so nothing is mass-produced or wasted. Wherever possible, I choose local makers to keep more work in our communities and support other small businesses like mine. It’s a simple choice that means your purchase is made with care from start to finish, and every order helps real people – not just big factories, keep doing what they love.
When you support Kindle & Crayon, you become part of my story – and I hope, in some small way, my work becomes part of yours. You’re helping a small business grow, supporting a mum finding her way after burnout, and giving life to a dream built on kindness, creativity, and two very spoilt cocker spaniels. Most of all, you’re giving yourself something beautiful that lifts your spirits, sparks joy, and reminds you to slow down and breathe. That’s something worth celebrating.
Much love,
Alex (and my little sidekicks, Alfie & Lucy 🐾)
